...WELL? WHAT IS IT ABOUT? IT IS YOUR PROJECT AFTER ALL? |
WHAT IS AO1?
Assessment Objective 1 is about developing ideas from a starting point to a final piece. This is done through mind-mapping, sketches and studies related to the work of other artists, designers and craftspeople. You need to analyse and understand these contextual sources, and develop your ideas in a personal way. Don't just state facts that you have found out. Relate what you have found out to your own ideas and experience. |
ALL ART GCSE PROJECTS HAVE A THEME - IF YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR THEME THEN YOU NEED TO GO AWAY AND FIND IT...BUT BEWARE THE WRATH OF YOUR ART TEACHER.
MINDMAPS - SPIDER DIAGRAMS - WORD CLOUDS
Grouping a mind map, spidergram or word cloud with initial visual ideas can help demonstrate the link between your theme, your ideas and your visual language.
IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER HOW YOU START...AS LONG AS YOU DO START.
MOOD BOARDS - VISUALS - WHAT IS IT THAT YOY ARE THINKING OF CREATING? WHAT DO YOU THINK LOOKS REALLY, REALLY GOOD AND INTERESTING?
Ask yourself...can i do that? Then ask yourself will my art teacher let me do that? All art teachers will be happy to discuss your ideas with you but listen to their advice and feedback. Don't be disheartened if your art teacher says no in various different ways...you may have a great idea but have you done the work showing the develop of this idea? Should your amazing idea be saved for your final piece?
